Motorcyclist stable following Bundaberg Central crash

A motorcyclist is in a stable condition in Bundaberg Hospital following a serious crash in Bundaberg Central on Thursday.

A motorcyclist who sustained serious injuries in Thursday’s crash in Bundaberg Central is in a stable condition at Bundaberg Hospital, a Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service spokesman said on Friday.

While initial Queensland Police Service reports stated that the man had sustained critical injuries, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said on Friday the man sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.

The QAS spokeswoman said that the 20-year-old man sustained abrasions and bruising to his upper and lower limbs and reported neck pain to ambulance officers who attended the scene.

The man was unconscious for a period of time following the crash.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said on Friday no arrests or charges had been laid in relation to the incident.

The crash is being investigated by the Forensic Crash Unit.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 21-year-old Bundaberg West woman, was not physically injured and is assisting police with inquiries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam vision to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
