An abandoned house has been destroyed overnight after it was engulfed in flames.
Ten fire crews rushed to the scene in Childers after Queensland Fire and Emergency Services received a call just after 10pm Friday.
When they arrived, a single-storey timber house and nearby cane trash bales was well alight.
A QFES spokesperson confirmed a farmer, who was working on the property at the time, managed to get away safely.
Emergency crews put out the fire at the house and spread hay bales across the property to help control the blaze.
It’s uncertain what started the fire, but it’s believed the farmer was working with cane bales beforehand.
Crews left the scene just before 2am Saturday.
No one was injured.
