Hamptons style luxury daycare centre to open in Bundaberg

A new daycare centre will be built in the heart of Bundaberg, accommodating 110 children. See the artist’s impressions and plans.

Historic house being demolished

A new building with deep verandahs, Queenslander balustrade and windows with white trim sounds more like holiday accommodation than a child care centre, but that is the design and look of a new centre to open in the heart of Bundaberg.

Initially submitted for approval in early 2021, the “Hamptons style” daycare centre will be built at 60 Walker St.

According to documents submitted to Bundaberg Regional Council, the building will emulate the iconic Queenslander with deep verandahs for shading, a gable feature and classic balustrade.

The property will also be fully landscaped with outdoor play features designed to inspire.

As part of the specialist landscaping, designers Green Synthesis also submitted photos of the types of trees and plants to adorn the grounds, including tea trees, gardenias and grevilleas.

The daycare will also feature a colour scheme in shades of grey. It will accommodate 110 places with on-site parking from the Lamb St entrance.

Work is set to begin on construction.
