Funeral announced for Brayden Roy, motorcyclist killed in Maroondan crash

The heartbroken family of a young man who tragically died after a motorbike crash has shared details of his funeral as they invite the public to celebrate his life.

Funeral details have been shared for the young man tragically killed in a crash at Maroondan near Bundaberg in April.

Brayden Roy, 21, was killed when the Honda motorcycle he was riding collided with a car near a school in Maroondan on April 20.

Mr Roy’s funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Branyan Gardens Crematorium on Cummins Road, Branyan on Friday, May 12 at 10am.

The service will be live streamed via the Browns of Bundaberg Funerals Facebook page.

A Browns of Bundaberg Funerals spokeswoman said the family welcomed the public to either attend the service or watch the live stream.

Posting to social media on behalf of Mr Roy’s family, Trina Barry said “it is with great sadness and (it) is absolutely killing our family to post on this page … but the whole world is welcome to celebrate Brayden Jye Roy (Broy) born on the 30th November 2001, (who) will be laid to rest”.

“Forever our son, Uncle and baby brother. Forever 21,” she wrote.

Tributes posted for Mr Roy following the crash described him as “a beautiful soul”.

“You were so beautifully natured and you always made me laugh,” Trinitii Lee wrote.

“You will be missed by everyone, you were a light in the dark.

“You didn’t deserve this at all.”

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the Forensic Crash Unit is still investigating the crash.

They said no charges had been laid.
