Stealing offences pile up

Frances Irene Rewald, 29, pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court to 14 offences, including stealing, fare evasion, drug offences and trespass.

Rewald was given parole and ordered to pay $66.20 for dodging a cab fare.

No conviction was recorded.

 

Catfishing men on Tinder leads to court

Bridget Jane Canty pleaded guilty to fraud and using another person's identity to commit an offence.

The court heard Canty used the online dating app to lure men before a victim sent her $1000.

She was caught out once the victim became suspicious.

Canty was ordered to complete 15 months of probation.

 

Woman smashes friend's car after seeing it at ex's place

Nicara Lisa Nutt faced Bundaberg Magistrates Court and was ordered to pay thousands in damages she caused her friend's car.

No conviction was recorded.

 

Woman licks meth, tells cops it tastes like Panadol

After a nine-month stint in prison, Kim Therese Bell appeared in the magistrates court to finalise some drug-related matters.

She pleaded guilty to a string of drug offences, including one where she licked the contents of a clip-seal bag before telling police it tasted like Panadol.

Bell received fines and was convicted, but received no further punishments.

 

Overloaded car crashes

Beth Houston was attempting to move house when she crashed her overloaded car into another vehicle at the Hummock.

Appearing in Bundaberg Magistrates Court, she was sentenced to nine months' probation and disqualified from driving for six months.

A conviction was recorded because she failed to provide a specimen of breath at the crash scene, but not for the dangerous operation of offence.

 

Mum misses child's graduation because of drugs

Lucinda Blythe Slack was driving to her child's high school graduation ceremony when she was intercepted by police and found to be in possession of two used pipes, uncapped syringes, 0.2g of meth and 0.8g of cannabis.

She also refused to provide a specimen of breath.

Slack was fined $1600 (deferred to SPER) and received a six-month driving disqualification with no conviction recorded.

 

Young mum lures man online

Kylah-Raw Rose Foster pleaded guilty to a number of offences including three armed robbery in company, deprivation of liberty and unlawful use of a vehicle to facilitate the commission on an indictable offence.

The court heard Foster lured a man to her house where she promised him "sexual interaction" but when he arrived, three other men in hoods armed with baseball bats appeared.

The man was threatened and robbed.

Foster received immediate parole and convictions were recorded.

 

Perfume thief appears in court

Ashley Moras was spotted on CCTV stealing bottles of perfume from three chemists in town, which the court heard was to fuel her drug habit.

With a string of shoplifting charges behind her, Moras was fined $850 and ordered to pay $230 restitution with convictions recorded.

 

Mum pleads guilty to drink driving

Young mum Madison Anita Aprile Hamerton pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and driving under the influence of alcohol.

The court heard Hamerton ended up on the wrong side of the road, forcing another driver to take evasive action.

Hamerton was fined a total of $1700 and disqualified from holding a licence for eight months.

Convictions were recorded for the driving offences and no conviction was recorded for a possession of marijuana.

 

Drink driver crashes while eating sausage roll

Brodie-Lee Louise Reardon, 23, pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court to driving under the influence of liquor.

Reardon blew 0.164 when tested following a crash that cause her car to leave the road and collide with a brick garden edging.

Reardon was fined $1900 and was disqualified from holding a licence for 14 months.
