The existing Hillview development project at Childers is set to get a massive boost, with a 220 relocatable home park to be added to the site.
The park is expected to provide a range of recreational facilities including a cafe, bar, cinema, pool, gym and barbecue facilities.
The homes will be built with the traveller in mind, with spacious garages for caravans, boats and motorhomes attached to the stylish two and three-bedroom homes.
An RV maintenance and washbay will also be available on site.
Guests will also be able to enjoy the quiet country atmosphere across about 30ha, with walking tracks, tennis courts and a bocce court.
The park is anticipated to boost the development infrastructure of Childers and the wider region for many years to come.
Initial projections of the developments running costs began at $100 million, but developer Rick Sheida said those figures had risen to $120 million due to ongoing manufacturing price rises.
He said he was confident the relocatable home park would be approved, and hoped to being work as soon as possible.
“What’s important for us as developers is we are going to keep the flavour of the town alive, the heritage style the town is known for,” he said.

“The proposed development constitutes an urban activity which supports the intent of the urban footprint designation by providing an extension to the surrounding residential catchment and diversity in housing option in the Childers Township,” the application said.
The initial Hillview holiday park application is the first of its kind in Childers, and is anticipated to greatly boost tourism numbers in the region.
Councillor Ross Sommerfeld said he believed this motel-style development would also provide a boost to the local economy.
“This is a prominent site at the northern entrance to the Childers CBD and it would be heartening to see it used to its full potential,” Cr Sommerfeld said.
“There is no doubt that Childers, with its historical charm and many attractions, has the capacity to cater to increased tourist numbers.”
Once approvals are finalised, guests may be entering the park as soon as Christmas 2023.
