Chaos on wet roads: Teen boy with head injuries after being hit by car in Millbank

As an investigation continues into a ute crash that left a man fighting for life, police have revealed more details about the driver.

Police continue to investigate a Bundaberg region crash that left a man with life-threatening injuries and more details about the driver have been revealed.

In the first crash, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said emergency services responded to the crash on Tuesday morning in Avoca.

“Initial investigations indicate at 11.10am a red 2006 Nissan Patrol crashed on into a power pole on Langbeckers East Rd,” she said.

“The driver, a 48-year-old Coonarr man, was transported to Bundaberg Hospital in a serious condition.”

Yesterday, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man was being assessed for “life-threatening” head injuries.

The man was taken to the Bundaberg Hospital with a critical care paramedic and doctor on route with him.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the man had to be cut out of the vehicle when crews arrived.

A police investigation continues.

Four ambulance units were on scene at the crash, with firefighters and police also providing assistance.
Emergency crews worked in the pouring rain to clear the area.

A portion of Langbeckers East Rd was also blocked off so crews could remove the ute from the ditch.

It was a busy day for Bundaberg’s emergency services.

A teenage boy was also treated for life-threatening head and leg injuries after being hit by a car on Avoca St in Millbank about 3.20pm on Tuesday.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the vehicle remained at the crash following the incident.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the boy had been transported to the Bundaberg Hospital in serious condition with life-threatening injuries.

A Wide Bay Hospital and Health spokeswoman said the teenage boy and the man involved in the two separate crashes were transferred from the Bundaberg Hospital to a Brisbane hospital.

There was also another crash in the Wide Bay, a man and woman aged in their 60s have been rushed to Gympie Hospital with life-threatening injuries after they were involved in a multi-vehicle accident near the turn-off to Laminex in the Toolara Forestry on the Tin Can Bay Road on Tuesday.
