One of Bundaberg’s most popular fast food outlets is set to join forces with a leading food delivery company launching in the region.
The Busy Bee Fish Bar is one of several Bundaberg food outlets partnering with international food delivery giant Deliveroo, set to expand its services to the region from next week.
Previously owned by the Wong family for 52 years, new owner, Sandy Li, stepped in to continue the historical business and is now relying on a modern shake-up to improve service capability to current and new customers.
“People have been asking me about a delivery service,” she said.
“They usually order on the phone, but it‘s good they can now order online.
“It’s a convenience for the people, and there are three wins: customer win, our win and Deliveroo win.
“It’s not easy to take on a business with over 70 years of history, so we would like to do what we can to keep going for this generation and the next generation.”
Deliveroo will open in the region as part of the company’s broader growth plans for 2021, and is seeking self-employed delivery riders with their own bike, motorcycle, electric bike or scooter for its local delivery network.
“We are excited to support Bundaberg’s local economic growth through providing additional revenue streams for local restaurant businesses,“ said Deliveroo Australia CEO Ed McManus.
“Riders are at the heart of all we do and we are thrilled to welcome new riders in Bundaberg to our growing rider community.
“Their hard work powers our growth, and without them we would be unable to bring our customers the best food on demand while at the same time helping great local restaurants to thrive.”
