A 29-year-old man is in a critical condition in a Brisbane hospital following a vehicle rollover at Kinkuna beach on Friday.

Investigations into the ute rollover at Kinkuna beach have indicated that drugs and alcohol were involved in the incident, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said on Tuesday.

“Police are speaking with a number of witnesses,” the spokeswoman said.

“Police believe the manner of driving and drugs and alcohol have played a clear factor in the cause of the crash.”

The spokeswoman said no charges had been laid in relation to the incident, and investigations were ongoing.

Police have released a video of three vehicles that were involved in the incident in an appeal to the public for assistance with their investigations.

A Metro North Hospital and Health Service spokeswoman said on Tuesday the 29-year-old man taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital was in a critical but stable condition, and a female patient was in the hospital in a stable condition.

NewsMail understands one woman remains in Bundaberg Hospital, but Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service was unable to provide an update on her condition on Tuesday.

WBHHS said on Monday the woman was in a stable condition, and two other women had been discharged from Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.

WBHHS was unable to indicate the ages of the women who remain in hospital and who have been discharged.

On Friday, one person was flown to hospital with a back injury and four others injured when the black Ford Ranger ute they were travelling in crashed and rolled on a popular Bundaberg region beach.

Emergency crews were called to the crash site near the entrance to the Burrum Coast National Park at Dune Rd, Kinkuna, shortly before midnight on Friday June 30.

Police said the vehicle rolled “several times” in the crash.

A 29-year-old man was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with a back injury.

Four women, the driver aged 22, another aged in her 20s and two 18-year-olds, were flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a second helicopter.

A QAS spokeswoman said one of the women suffered a back injury, while the other three suffered injuries to their shoulder, arm, and abdomen.

All five were from the Wide Bay area.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Police have urged any witnesses to the crash, including people camping in the area or may have captured footage on their dashcams, to come forward.
