‘Carnival of joy’: When giant Koala, Kookaburra and Cockatoo will visit region

After receiving overwhelming support last year when the giant laughing Kookaburra visited the region, it will return along with the giant Koala and talking Cockatoo.

A giant koala, kookaburra and cockatoo will soon fly through the Wide Bay region as they travel around the state to spread joy.

The inaugural Carnival of Joy is making it’s way across the state and will reach the Wide Bay on Friday when it rolls into Bauple.

The event will be celebrating community togetherness with a parade of the giant Aussie animal sculptures.

The parade kicked off from Brisbane and will be travelling all the way up to Cairns and back visiting towns and spreading a message of joy and unity to communities along the way.

The sculptures’ creator Dr Farvardin Daliri brought his giant laughing Kookaburra to Bundaberg in July last year, with the animal gaining and overwhelming response and international media attention.

This year he will be bringing not only the giant laughing Kookaburra, but also his giant Koala and a giant talking Cockatoo.

The Festival of Joy will being its fly by of the region when it rolls into Bauple on Friday afternoon.

The statues will then stop in Tiaro on Saturday before heading to Maryborough on Sunday.

On Monday the trio of giant animals will be in Childers before stopping in Bundaberg for two days on Tuesday and Wednesday, before arriving in Gin Gin Wednesday afternoon.

The Carnival of Joy will then head to Miriam Vale and Agnes Water on Thursday before it heads further north.
