Outdoor adventure giant Anaconda is set to open in Bundaberg this weekend and it’s not the only big retailer moving into the same street. DETAILS.

The new Anaconda store in Bundaberg is set to open this weekend in a big win for outdoor adventurers.

The project has been in the works since March 2023, when the initial request to build was submitted to the council.

After approval, construction quickly got underway.

The ever-expanding brand bills itself as the “first choice” for hiking, sporting, camping and fishing gear.

This new store isn’t the only retail addition coming to Johanna Boulevard, Kensington, this year.

Just a few doors down, 4WD SuperCentre is also set to open at 52 Johanna Boulevard in late November.

Anaconda’s grand opening is expected to attract a large crowd, with around 1700 people expressing interest in attending the event.

Many locals are excited about the store’s arrival, as the closest Anaconda location was previously in Hervey Bay, 109 kilometres away.

Mark Johns shared his enthusiasm on Facebook, saying, “Great to see you guys opening here in Bundy, will save the trek to Hervey Bay.”

Another local, Rodney Weller, said the staff had been working hard to prepare the store.

“How exciting to see the town have a great new option in this retail category, so deserving,” Mr Weller said.

The opening event will feature a variety of attractions, including performances by artist Lachlan Grant, appearances by 7mate host Paul Burt of Step Outside with Paul Burt, a BBQ hosted by local scouts, as well as giveaways and prizes.
