Anaconda store planned for busy Bundaberg business hub

A much-wanted mega-store could soon open in Bundaberg if a development application gets the green light from the council. Check out the iconic business’s plans here.

Anaconda could be coming to Bundaberg.

Bundaberg‘s wishes have been granted, with a new major retailer set to pop up in the city if it gets the go-ahead from the council.

In December last year, this publication ran a poll asking readers to nominate the businesses they‘d most like to see in the region and among those popular nominations was camping and outdoor mega-store Anaconda.

Council makes decision on grand Queenslander

Plans lodged with Bundaberg Regional Council in February reveal locals‘ dreams could soon come true.

The proposed store will comprise the second stage of a project comprising of an existing industrial warehouse on a parcel of land bordered by Lillian Crescent and Johanna Boulevard, Kensington.

The planned store would include a 2235sq m shop space plus more than 50 car parking spaces.

Anaconda was founded in November 2004 by an Australian retailing family who said they were concerned about a decline in Australia‘s outdoor culture.

They decided to create the store to offer a range of outdoor products from camping to hiking and four-wheel driving all in one place.

The application remains before Bundaberg Regional Council.
