A huge caravan business has been given the green light to build a workshop and sales centre in a booming Bundaberg industrial suburb near the airport.
Future RV Pty Ltd’s development application for a new caravan sales business, Snowy River Caravans, at 8-12 Airport Drive, Kensington has been approved.
The application, submitted on July 18, sought a development permit for a material change of use to accommodate Commercial Activity B (Caravan Sales and Repairs) and Industry Light (Caravan Workshop – Repairs, Fitting, and Servicing).
The permit application made on July 15 covers the properties at 8, 10, and 12 Airport Dr in Kensington near Liberty Oil.
An ASIC document search reveals that Future RV Pty Ltd was registered in Queensland in 2022.
Originally founded in Gympie by Carl Green, the business is described on its website as an Australian family-owned and operated enterprise dedicated to helping customers find their ideal caravan.
Future RV stocks Regent Caravans, Snowy River, and Avida brands and also handles used caravans.
The development will feature a 686sq m building that will function as an office, retail space and workshop.
The building will include a 200sq m covered ‘handover’ area near the main entrance and a 100sq m wash bay at the rear.
The workshop will have eight service bays accessible from both sides of the building.
The remaining site area will be used as an outdoor display area for caravans and to facilitate circulation around the building.
The proposal also includes 17 on-site parking spaces and a dedicated service drop-off and collection area.
The facility will operate from 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 3pm on Saturdays, remaining closed on Sundays.
It is anticipated that the operations will employ 10 full-time equivalent staff members.
