17 year old entrepreneur crowned Bundy’s Best Cake Decorator

A teenage entrepreneur has been voted Bundaberg’s best cake decorator for creating beautiful and memorable sweets for special celebrations. Take a look at some of her work.

A teen entrepreneur has thanked the support of her friends and family after being named Bundaberg’s Best Cake Decorator as voted by Bundaberg Newsmail readers.

Keiarna Seymour, 17, launched Cupcakes by K.Rose when she just was 14-years-old.

“I’m really grateful to everyone, all of my Facebook followers, customers and everyone who supports me,” Ms Seymour said.

“There’s so many talented cake makers in Bundaberg, I didn’t even think I had a chance.”

The talented baker said she always had a passion for the craft, and through the support of locals has a successful career.

“I’ve been baking for as long as I’ve known, I used to help my mum when I was little,” Ms Seymour said.

While she is being celebrated for her cake decorating skill, she also creates beautiful cupcakes, brownies and biscuits.

Ms Seymour said the standout moments from almost three years in the dessert industry has come from producing major orders for special events such as Christmas parties, birthdays and teachers during end of year celebrations.

“I love getting customer reactions, and I just love the creative aspect of it all, trying new things and there’s always a cake trend to follow,” she said.

As a young business owner, Ms Seymour stressed how grateful she was to other small businesses for showing continued support.

“I know how hard it is to build a customer base and keep putting yourself out there,” she said.

She personally thanked a number of small businesses including Brothers Sports Club (Bright Ball), Brothers Netball Club, Kepnock School Graduation, Chemist Discount Warehouse and Coral Coast Physiotherapy for backing her business.
