Police are appealing to the public for more information following a reported car roll last week.

Inspector Marcus Grant said at the time, one child had been caught and another remained on the run after an alleged joy-ride nearly ended in disaster in Bundaberg.

The incident occurred about 2pm on October 22, with multiple units responding.

Initial reports indicated the car had rolled and was found abandoned off a stretch of road in Norville.

Police have since appealed to the public for more information.

In post published to Facebook, police said a silver Holden Calais was found abandoned near the intersection of Edenbrook and Fitzgerald Streets.

Police will allege the vehicle left the roadway and entered the open field driving for approximately 200 metres before hitting a shallow drainage ditch causing the vehicle to roll on its roof.

The vehicle involved was a 2006 silver Holden Calais sedan bearing Queensland registration 840OF6.

Police ask anyone with dashcam footage or relevant CCTV to contact Policelink 31 444 and quote QP2501909295.

Insp Marcus said it was still early days in the investigation, but police are working to determine whether the car was stolen.

A spokesman for Queensland Fire Department said two crews attended the scene and used hydraulic equipment to assist police in accessing the car which was found on its roof.
