Emergency crews have rushed to a home at Thabeban after a car caught fire in a backyard, spewing black smoke into the air.

The smoke was reported coming from the property at 8.20am today.

According to QFES, the car fire was found in a backyard on Wyllie St, within 10m of a home.

No one was found in the vehicle, and the fire was successfully extinguished by 8.40am.
