Brisbane traffic: Multiple incidents cause chaos around southeast

Multiple incidents, from the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane and Logan, have sparked traffic chaos on Monday afternoon.

Northbound motorists on Brisbane’s Gateway Motorway were facing delays on Monday afternoon after a crash in the right-hand lane.

The crash happened adjacent to the Bracken Ridge Rd off-ramp at Bracken Ridge just before 3.15pm.

According to Google Maps, it was taking motorists about 38 minutes to travel 9km from Boondall to Bracken Ridge.

Earlier, a multi-vehicle crash on the Logan Motorway at Logan caused traffic headaches for motorists with near half-hour delays.

Eastbound lanes were reduced at Heathwood, causing congestion from Stapylton Rd to the Centenary Motorway, while Paradise Rd in nearby Larapinta remained closed after flash flooding.

The delays on the motorway remained at 3pm between Larapinta and Forest Lake.

In South Brisbane a truck’s loose load caused minor delays as crews cleared Vulture St before Dock St.

The Transport and Main Roads Department urged drivers to be cautious at Tingalpa after a rubbish truck on Wynnum Rd broke down at the Gateway Motorway on-ramp.

Delays in the Tingalpa area had eased by 3.10pm.

Earlier, a single-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway at Eerwah Vale on the Sunshine Coast caused delays.

The crashed happened about 1pm and resulted in one person being taken to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.
