BRIGHT, comfortable and simple summer wear items are tipped to be all the rage this summer, with Australian’s looking to lighten up their wardrobe after the dreary year that’s been 2020.
White linen shirts, vivid pastel dresses, straw hats and headwear are being tipped as the hot ticket outdoor fashion items for the season.
Mark Ferguson from Queensland-based tailor Will Valor said summer normally makes both men and women more open to experimenting with newer and brighter colours, wanting to change things up instead of more mainstream styles.
“Summer for Australian’s is about comfort and a relaxed style,” he said.
“While it’s not out of the ordinary, there’s definitely been an uptick for those wanting to start the new season and year in a brighter fashion this year.”
Bright colours like yellow, aqua, crimson, even washed out pastels pinks and purples have seen an early rise in popularity for the season, but Ferguson has suggested even the odd dark navy or maroon can work well, too.
