INDIGENOUS fashion and textiles will hit the catwalk tonight in an intimate show at the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens.
The Country to Couture show will feature Ngali from Warmun Art Centre, Warlukurlangu Aboriginal Corporation, Anindilyakwa Arts, Ikuntji Artists, Liandra Swim and Bima Wear with collaborations from North, Magpie Goose and Nobody Denim.
Event organiser Katena Valastro said the small event was to abide by COVID restrictions.
The show will be filmed and become part of a larger Indigenous fashion show to be held in Melbourne next year.

“Everyone’s really passionate about it – the designers, the art centres, the people, Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair, the models who want to walk in it. So, to run it, even if it is a smaller event, is worth it,” Ms Valastro said.
