All in brawl erupts at Lakeside Park Raceway for Father’s Day motoring event

A Father’s Day event touted as a “great family day out” has been marred by a brawl that erupted at a Queensland motorsport precinct on the weekend.

Footage has emerged of a physical altercation between several people at a motoring event held at Lakeside Park Raceway, Kurwongbah, on Sunday, September 1.

The person who uploaded the vision said the incident took place at the Queensland circuit at a “Father’s Day cruise”.

The incident took place at the All Aussie Father’s Day event held at the circuit.

According to the event description, the event allowed drivers of Australian built vehicles to take to the circuit for over three hours of cruising and was billed as a “great family day out”.

The footage depicts two people opening the door of a vehicle and having words with the driver, before he emerges from the vehicle, and an altercation ensues.

It is understood that the driver’s vehicle was leaking oil for several laps of the circuit before coming into the pit lane complex, where the altercation took place.

The vision shows six people involved in the brawl before a seventh person, believed to be officials, attempts to intervene in the quarrel.

A spokesperson from Lakeside Park Raceway told The Courier-Mail that internal investigations are underway, but no information will be released to the public at this time.

The video attracted a host of comments from people criticising the incident.

“Shocking behaviour today at Lakeside,” another person said.

“No need for anyone to lay a hand on anyone...... official, entrant, spectator, anyone,” a different person said.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said they have not been made aware of the incident, and are not investigating.

It is believed the incident has not been reported to police.
