A-list Confidential: Nova 106.9 confirms new breakfast show for 2022

Following Kip Wightman’s sudden departure from Nova 106.9’s breakfast show last month, the station has confirmed a new-look line-up for 2022.

Nova 106.9 won’t replace outgoing breakfast host Kip Wightman in 2022.

Confidential can reveal afternoons presenter Chris “Buzz” Bezzina will instead be brought in as the new anchor for the top-rating breakfast show, which will continue to be hosted by Ash Bradnam, David “Luttsy” Lutteral and Susie O’Neill.

It comes in the wake of Wightman’s sudden departure from the station last month after 15 years to focus on his personal life as a newly single parent to son Rafael, two.

“Nova 106.9’s breakfast show has been one of the most successful shows in Brisbane with the team building a loyal following over the past 15 years,” a Nova spokesman said.

Ash Bradnam, David Lutteral and Susie O’Neill will continue as Nova 106.9’s breakfast team in 2022.

“Ash Bradnam, David Lutteral and Susie O’Neill will continue to entertain and support their listeners as Nova 106.9’s breakfast team in 2022.”

“Kip is not being replaced – Chris ‘Buzz’ Bezzina has joined the team as Show Anchor. The Brisbane audience already know Buzz as he has already been on presenting afternoons on Nova 106.9 over the past 12 months.”

With Bezzina focused on breakfast, Nova is recruiting for an afternoons announcer to fill his newly vacant spot.

The Ash, Kip, Luttsy & Susie show had won consecutive radio surveys prior to Wightman’s exit and is favoured to finish on top when the seventh survey is released on Tuesday.

“Everyone was pretty shocked because in a way it’s strange timing to leave when we’re rating the best we ever have but in the same essence I feel like I’m leaving the show in a really positive space,” Wightman said following his departure.
