Alfred St in Fortitude Valley reopened after police said a man fell to his death

A street in Fortitude Valley has been reopened following the “sudden death” of a man.

Police incident closes Valley street

A 38-year-old man has lost his life after falling from a balcony at unit building in Fortitude Valley Wednesday night.

A Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman said part of Alfred Street was cordoned off from just before 6.30pm to about 9.30pm Wednesday after the man’s body was found on the road.

He said the man fell from “a high level” of The Coterie Apartment building at 107 Alfred Street.

A man who answered a phone number listed to The Coterie unit building Thursday declined to comment.

The QPS spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Motorists had been advised to avoid the area while police investigated.
