Internationally-renowned food writer and TV cook Nigella Lawson has been spotted dining at one the nation’s top restaurants, right here in Brisbane.
Nigella, who is in the River City for her show, “An Evening with Nigella Lawson,” dined at Agnes Restaurant in Fortitude Valley on Wednesday night, stopping to take a photo with the chef, Adam Wolfers.
Agnes was named Gourmet Traveller’s Resautant of the Year last year.
Wolfers took to social media to praise the best-selling author and chef.
“It’s not too often you get to have someone that has influenced so many people in this world,” the post said.
“@nigellalawson thanks again for dining @agnes.restaurant last night, was lovely to meet you.
“I missed you the last time you were in Brisbane, but I’m glad that you I got to meet you this time and get to witness such passionate and positive energy in the room, enjoy your time in Brisbane, if it’s only for a short time.”
Nigella commented in response to the post: “I’m so happy to have met you, and am fired up by your food. Eating at @agnes.restaurant made me feel so very alive.”
The Brit, who presented at QPAC on Thursday night in front of a sellout crowd posted to her own social media, thanking the audience for a “special time”.
“I had such a special time at QPAC in Brisbane last night, made extra special by a truly delicious audience, and a heart-swelling meeting the with lovely @murrigellas,” she said.
She is next scheduled to present at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Adelaide on March 19 with many keen Nigella fans speculating she may spend the weekend around Brisbane.
