The duo that have brought laughs, music and trampolines to mornings on Power 100 will now take the show to Star from next week as the boys make the long trek from one studio, to its neighbour at 106.3.

Radio DJs Archie and Donny revealed they will be starting at Star 106.3 on March 3 from 5:30am driving people to work in a shake up that will also see Dannii moved to 9am and Wildy moved to the breakfast slot on Power 100.

“We’ll be on a different frequency but it’s the same show, so still us, still bringing our news reader Beth, still talking to our 89 year-old tipster, it’s the same show on a different frequency with slight different music,” Donny said.

“We’re just excited because we have the best job in the world.”

Archie who has been dubbed by Donny and himself a ‘radio nerd’ said he loved the connection to people that radio brings.

“I’ve now gone through ex-Cyclone Kirrily and the floods – being that companion, seeing hundreds of calls that came through to Power 100, we’re hoping we can get that relationship through to Star 106.3 listeners and ensure they’re going to have a very fun time in the morning,” he said.

The pair who have been working together since November 2023 when Donny joined Archie who had already been on air for a couple years prior said the best thing was that they get to stay in Townsville.

“We’re not leaving, we’re moving, we’re just a couple notches up the dial, we’re not going anywhere,” Donny said.

“We’re still driving down Nathan Street every day.”

Archie emphasised that the duo were grateful for loyal Power listeners who had accompanied them every morning.

“We’ve gotta thank the people who listen to Power 100, they are unquestionably some of the most dedicated and generous and incredible people I’ve gotten to meet,” Archie said.

He reflected on Power’s highlights and explained the significant impact Convoy for the Cure had in raising money for cancer, and spoke of the Little Legends segment that talked to kids from sporting clubs around the community.

“We’ll be getting around all the footy clubs speaking to all the kids about the big issues in life, we’ve already been approached by quite a number of sports clubs to pick up our Little Legends series,” Archie said.

On whether or not Crisafulli would be jumping with the tramp champ Donny, the boys said they had been promised the time will come, but there were delays as the premier faced the damage from recent floods in his hometown.

“He’ll be raising money and bouncing like he’s never bounced before, arguably the highest a premier of Queensland has ever bounced on a trampoline the record will be set,” Archie said.

For their new listeners Donny has assured a “family-style” show on the drive to work.

“We act like two little brothers without a parent in the room,” he said.

“The listeners more often than not call us up acting like our parents and calling us out and everyone’s invited to do that. It’s their show as much as it is ours.”

Archie has also promised within the first few weeks the show will take on an international element as he heads to England to marry his fiancé Lucy, who also happens to be a frequent caller of the show.

“You will be able to hear her whenever I’m talking about something where I have my version of the story, you can rest assured my wonderful fiancé will ring the show to correct me almost every day,” he said.

Listeners who stick to Power 100 will have Wildy on the drive to work and school in the morning with Donny promising he will pick up where the boys left off.

“Wildy is the glue that keeps us all together,” he said.

“He’s going to do an absolute service to that time slot, we’re really keen to see what he does.”

When asked about his approach to breakfast radio, Wildy told the Townsville Bulletin it would be “more music and less talk”.

“I’m already feeling tired before the alarm’s gone off hey,” he joked.

“No, I’m feeling excited. Excited that we got rid of those two idiots.

“We’ll have a joke here and there but a lot of what’s going on in Townsville and keeping people informed, that’s while I like to be known for.”
