Concern growing for Qld

Queenslanders have expressed their concerns after the No.1 factor that will decide the state election was revealed in exclusive polling.

#cancelled
If this correct, and I highly doubt it, two thirds of Queenslanders are fools. And that would explain a lot

Geoffrey
I am a swing voter that votes on a local member and policies. We know what Labour is doing but Cristafuli and his generic " I will do better than them" has no substance and getting boring 😴 . Show me the policies !

Ted
The state is a mess – they have zero ideas – hydro would be a nightmare, look at turnbulls never ending snowy nightmare – unions will still control us and outprice the market so there's no private work! Remember -crime, health , public servant overload , green – all bad

Readers pile on Labor

While polling suggested there's a willingness to forget and forgive, Labor isn't getting off that easy with many readers.

David T
Quite simply laboUr is a complete disaster, add in their union overlords and green apparatchiks and it gets catastrophic.

Nikki
Miles is even worse than Anastasia. How could anyone want this union puppet to run our state.?

Maxwell
Same state ministers, all that has changed is the premier has gone and the deputy who has been there the whole time is not in charge.
Total incompetents.

Forget the past nine years: Labor's plea

Are Labor heading in the right direction? That was the question as the party's election strategy to ask voters to ignore the past nine years appeared to somewhat work.

Two-thirds of voters in an exclusive online poll say they will forget about the past nine years under former Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk when heading to the state election this October.

James
If Labor don't lose by a massive landslide then there is something seriously wrong with the people of QLD. This government is a complete incompetent mess and has been since the party premier palachook was at the helm, doing nothing but finding red carpet events and parties to go to.

Alex
People are still voting for Labor. How does someone continue to support this government is beyond my ability to comprehend.

Troy
Let’s hope these Polls emulate what happens in October – labor and it’s unions leaders (CFMEU) are destroying this state and country

Time to move on

Regardless of the election result, many Queenslanders say it's time to move forward.

With exclusive polling revealing confronting truths for both Labor and the LNP, readers have urged change.

Cameron
Just build the Gabba as it was planned. Stop this wish washy nonsense.

Rosie
I heard our smart treasurer saying "how are the LNP going to pay for their promises? All they need to do is stop to CFMEU tax created by Labor for Labor.

Leanne
Hopefully, the rest of Australia also wakes up to how bad Labor is before we get to a Federal election.

Miles is done

Steven Miles' tenure as Queensland Premier looks done given the exclusive polling results – and many say it couldn't come soon enough.

Readers jumped on the revelations that Labor has hit a 131-year low.

Mario
Great work Smiles ! What an honour to be the worst in 131 years. But it’s to be expected because everything is a joke to you !

Robbo
Miles is mincemeat at the election. Especially in regional areas..

Marie
Wonder if there is any money in the cupboard for Miles to distribute …. Sorry to buy votes …or it’s like Mother Hubbard cupboard .. empty … so LNP does not have any money to deal with all the problems Qld is facing , like housing, hospitals etc.

Labor sinks to new low

David Crisafulli is on track to become Queensland premier in October as Labor’s primary vote plunges to its lowest level in 131 years.

YouGov polling for The Courier-Mail reveals the LNP has extended its two-party lead over the government by one point to 57-43 per cent.

Darrel
Miles is a way better premier than Crissafulli will ever be. Pauline Hansons surge are you kidding me

Dan
Voters are realising what a clown show that does not care about future generations of Queenslanders needs to go.

Paul
Worst Government Ever!!!

Time to follow others' lead

It seems many readers are convinced that events elsewhere may be the way ahead for Queensland ahead of the 2024 state election.

Readers pointed to LNP national Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, and even US presidential hopeful Donald Trump, for inspiration – or cause for concern.

Daniel
Voters are rejecting Dutton’s socialist nuclear policy

Jill
David C get in there and be strong like Trump is.

Gate
I don’t think people are falling for it but I think the opposition leader comes across is so weak. It’s a prime opportunity just to rump it in put a strong leader in there with a voice and conviction to some policies.

Tyson
Steven Miles is weak, but Cristafulli looks a lot weaker, it's a shame we don't have a third option as preferred premier. Either way Queensland looks doomed.

Qld, we have a problem

Qld voters are sliding towards indifference over the two major parties, if these reactions are to go by.

The exclusive polling showed both Steven Miles and David Crisafulli have work to do – but many readers are already concerned about what lies ahead.

Ketut
The only Surprise is that anyone is Surprised !

Paul
I’m much more interested in the two party preferred vote. I would think that the ALP should be on a road to a train wreck of an election outcome for them.

Jerry Maguire SMI
Waving through the Qld treaty was a big black mark against Chrisifulli; it showed that he was not connected with the electorate who then voted NO for the Voice.
Now he has failed to back Dutton on nuclear and failed to put up minimum mandatory sentences for horrendous youth crime. Where is his political judgment?

We need more, David

Steven Miles may still be trailing in the exclusive polling when it comes to preferred Premier, but readers are urging Opposition Leader David Crisafulli to finally stand up.

Michael
Well Mr Crisafulli you need to stop playing the small target and come out with some policies or the voters will cotton on come election time.

Carpe Diem
There's a choice between the clown of a Miles Government, and a Labor Lite Crisafulli.
The poll isn't a surprise really, Crisafulli endorsed a labor budget before seeing it. And the day after Dutton revealed plans for nuclear, Crisafulli ruled it out (he should have just not said anything).
What we need is a centre/conservative option.

mark
only 12 weeks before the election. When are the LNP releasing its' policies?
