Point Clare man Ronald Johnston, 59, pleads guilty to raping and drugging several women
A man has pleaded guilty to drugging and sexually assaulting multiple women across the Central Coast.
A despicable rapist who sexually abused multiple women by drugging them before raping them while they were unconscious has admitted to his abhorrent behaviour after entering pleas of guilty.
Ronald Johnston, 59, of Point Clare, pleaded guilty in the Gosford Local Court to four counts of sexual intercourse without consent, two counts of causing a person to take an intoxicating substance and one count of causing a person to take intoxicating substance with intent to commit indictable offence
Police facts state Johnston abused four women.
Court documents state the first victim did not want to engage in sexual activity with Johnston.
He then forced himself on top of the victim and said “stop struggling and it will be over soon”.
In another incident involving the same victim, Johnston wanted to have sex with her, but she said “no”. Johnston then put his hand inside her underwear and indecently assaulted her.
The second victim was poured a glass of wine by Johnston which appeared to be cloudy, with the victim recalling sediment being at the bottom of the wine.
The victim said to Johnston that the wine must be “off because she hadn’t seen this before”, and Johnston replied “No, no, no it’s all OK” as he continued to top up her wine.
The victim was asleep for about three hours when she woke to find Johnston with a torch looking at her bottom.
She could feel Johnston’s hand touching her bottom and she replied “What are you doing”, and Johnston responded “you have such a beautiful body and such a great arse”.
The victim woke up the next morning feeling sluggish and eventually disclosed the incident to police.
The third victim was sitting in the lounge room watching television when Johnston made her a vodka creaming soda with an intoxicating substance.
The victim doesn’t recall what happened after she sat in bed watching the news.
The next thing the victim recalls is being face down on the bed with Johnston kneeling behind her between her legs, while pushing her legs apart with his knees.
The next day the victim was feeling tired and drowsy and didn’t feel well. The victim left work and stopped at a chemist and brought a drug test kit, which showed a positive result for a substance.
The victim then confronted Johnston about putting something in her drink, and Johnston responded “You’re a b---h like all the others”.
Johnston brought his fourth victim a frappé from McDonald’s which appeared messy and appeared to have been stirred as a result of an intoxicated substance he added to the drink.
The victim allowed the offender in and drank the frappé and at some point the victim lost consciousness.
Johnston then raped the victim. He was confronted the next day about his act, and did not deny that intercourse had occurred.
In another incident Johnston called the victim and told her, “I’m coming over. I have frappés”.
Johnston attended a short time later and gave her a salted caramel frappé which was messy as it contained sleeping tablets.
At some point the victim fell asleep and her next recollection that the victim has is laying on the bed on her back with the bed covers removed.
“The offender was standing over her holding the back of her head. He was naked from the waist down”, court documents state.
Johnston then orally raped the victim while naked. The victim was numb and she could not feel anything, but could see Johnston performing the sex act.
Johnston continued to rape the victim while she was unconscious. The victim woke up at 3am, and noticed that her left arms and thigh were numb.
She called Johnston the following day and recorded her conversation and confronted him.
He replied and said “I f----d up”.
Johnston was eventually arrested by police in November 2023. He will be sentenced in the Gosford District Court at a later date.
