The Sydney groom who lost his wife in the Hamilton Island golf buggy tragedy has revealed he wants to establish a charity in memory of her in a final act of love.
Robbie Morgan was three days into a dream honeymoon with his new wife, Marina, when a golf buggy he was driving rolled when he tried to do a U-turn on the island last week.
Mrs Morgan was crushed under the weight of the buggy and died.
Mr Morgan revealed on Monday he wanted to set up a charity in honour of Ms Morgan.
He said he would have more to say about the project after her funeral, which is due to be held later this week.
Hundreds of mourners are expected to attend.
Mr Morgan wrote in a heartbreaking tribute that he would miss Mrs Morgan for the rest of his life.
“She was always our angel, now she is with god in the kingdom of heaven,” he wrote.
“We will all miss her forever.”
Mr Morgan is the son of former NSW Police detective Sid Morgan, who gained widespread publicity in the mid-1990s when he was acquitted of the shooting murder of his brother-in-law.
A court heard Sid Morgan used his service revolver to fatally shoot his relative after learning he had been accused of molesting three young girls.
