A boat has been destroyed after a fire broke out inside a large storage facility in Sydney’s inner west.
Roughly 40 firefighters in 12 trucks were called to the scene on Waterway Circuit in Rozelle shortly after 9pm and spent more than an hour battling the blaze overnight.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry said the outcome could have been far worse if not for the quick actions of firefighters and an internal sprinkler system.
“The actions of firefighters and the installed fire sprinkler system have saved millions and millions of dollars of boats that are held in this warehouse,” he said.
The full extent of the damage is still being assessed, and investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.
