Big Bounce inflatable theme park with jumping castles at Oriole Park, Auburn

It started as an idea to banish boredom for parents and now an inflatable theme park that is Guinness-certified as the world’s largest is making its way to western Sydney.

Save your energy for Saturday when the “world’s largest bounce house and inflatable theme park” blows the fun out of proportion at Auburn.

The Big Bounce returns to Oriole Park where fans can get ready to run, roll, bounce and slam dunk over the next two weekends.

The attraction features giant slides, climbing towers, obstacle runs, basketball hoops and ball pits sprawled across 1500sq m.

The centrepiece is a “lavish air-filled palace” where a DJ and MC get the energy pumping with games and dance competitions.

There will also be a chance to sample the new Sport Slam arena brimming with goals, nets, hoops and balls.

Intrepid types can head to the climbing and “battle zone” to compete against family and friends in a contest to see who can stay on the podium the longest.

Another highlight is The Giant — a 300m inflated obstacle course with over 50 challenges to tackle as you run, jump, crawl and flip your way from the start line to the grand finale Giant slide.

AirSpace is another attraction with three ball pits, a climbing feature, an 18m-high maze and a colossal five-lane slippery slide.

Big Bounce founders Cameron Craig and Grahame Ferguson hatched the idea while working together at a music festival in the UK.

After watching bored parents mill around while their children relish the fun jumping and bouncing, the pair decided to upsize their jumping castles for parents to play on with their youngsters and brought the attraction Down Under.

They started hosting just 15 events in 2017 but that number quickly swelled to 52 in 2018 and in 2019, they hosted over 70 events across the world.

“This event is all about having fun, so we wanted to bring it to the people who live in one of the most fun places on earth,’’ Craig said.
