A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in the state’s far north.
Around 3.30am on Sunday July 7, emergency services were called to Raftons Rd, Bangalow, after reports a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated a man in his 60s, yet despite their best efforts he died at the scene.
Police have confirmed the vehicle involved left the location before they arrived.
Officers from the Tweed/Byron Police District established a crime scene, which is currently being examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Police are appealing for anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam footage, or mobile phone footage relating to the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
