A rural South Coast hospital is set for a multimillion-dollar transformation, with new medical imaging facilities and a CT scanner to enhance healthcare for the growing regional community.

This publication can reveal a first look into the $7.5m Milton Ulladulla Hospital project, funded by the NSW Government, which will modernise the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities, allowing doctors and nurses to provide faster, more accurate care.

Minister for Regional Health, Ryan Park, said the investment would ensure the hospital can continue to meet community needs.

“The Milton Ulladulla Hospital plays a vital role in delivering essential healthcare services to the Shoalhaven region, ensuring our community can access quality care close to home,” he said.

“We’re investing in this upgrade in clinical infrastructure to ensure we continue to meet the needs of this growing community now and into the future and support the incredible work of our dedicated healthcare professionals.”

The hospital redevelopment is part of a broader push to strengthen healthcare services in the region.

Further north in Nowra, the $438m Shoalhaven Hospital redevelopment, adding entire new wings and facilities, is well under way, while down south in Moruya, the $300m construction of Eurobodalla Regional Hospital has commenced.

Planning is also underway for an expanded Cancer Care Centre in the Milton Ulladulla Hospital, with community consultation to continue as the project progresses.

Member for South Coast, Liza Butler, labelled the upgrade a “fantastic step forward” for Shoalhaven healthcare.

“Our community deserves the very best healthcare services, and this upgrade is part of our commitment to ensuring world-class facilities for patients, their families, and healthcare workers,” she said.

Construction on the Milton Ulladulla transformation is expected to begin mid-2025 following the appointment of a building contractor.
