Travellers to Tennant Creek are now getting “a better impression” of the town, and locals are getting better service, thanks to recently completed roadhouse renovations.

The Tennant Creek BP has recently been refurbished with new rest rooms, showers, and toilets, upgraded airconditioning, a fresh coat of paint, ceiling repairs, and new security screens for staff.

Indigenous Business Australia Retail Asset Management chief executive Jacqueline Graham said the old facilities drew plenty of complaints from users.

“As the only 24-hour business in Tennant Creek, we know people rely on our facilities overnight,” she said.

“With these renovations, we now have a modern roadhouse and very competitive fuel pricing, which means a better service for locals and a better impression of Tennant Creek for travellers.”

A new driveway is also going to be installed as part of the upgrades, but construction was delayed due to rain.

The new driveway is now due to be completed by mid-February, Ms Graham said.
