Thieves strike again at Darwin servo for second time in days

Staff at a service station in Darwin’s northern suburbs have been left shaken after being targeted and threatened by thieves for the second time in a matter of days overnight.

STAFF at a service station in Darwin’s northern suburbs have been left shaken after being targeted and threatened by thieves for the second time in a matter of days.

Northern Watch Commander Richard Howie police responded to an incident at the Puma Service Station in Malak at 10pm on Tuesday.

“A man has entered the Puma Malak service station removing a number of items before making threats to the console operator and demanding cigarettes,” he said.

“The offender then left with a number of items.

“CCTV captured the incident and police investigations are continuing.

“Police request that if anyone has any information that may assist police to call 131444.

The service station was also targeted during an alleged armed robbery last Friday night.

Police said the person had entered the servo allegedly armed with a knife and stick and demanded money from the cashier.
