Darwin Cup Ball: Party time as tickets almost sold out for biggest giddy-up in town

Close to 1000 people will be at the biggest party in town on Saturday night with tickets almost sold out for the Darwin Cup Ball on the lawns of Mindil Beach Casino Resort.
Darwin Turf Club chief executive officer Chris Chaffe said while there will still some tickets available, the response to this year’s Cup Ball has been overwhelming.
“It’s a great sign for Darwin and a great sign for Monday’s Darwin Cup,” Mr Chaffe said.
“There are limited tickets to the ball still available so it will be very much first in best dressed.”
Those attending the Darwin Cup Ball will enjoy a sit down fine dining meal with fine wines, champagne, beer and more. The evening starts with sunset pre-dinner drinks from 6.30pm and the evening wrapping up outside at midnight.
“We’ve got an incredible entertainment lineup that will keep the energy high all night,” Mr Chaffe said.
“The Drummer Queens, an explosive high energy percussion group that is going to set the scene for the night with a powerful spectacle.
“We will also have the electrifying party band Mr Buzzy which will get everyone out onto the dance floor.
“There will be a special Back to the Future theme set with lots of iconic music and plenty of nostalgic vibes and a whole lot of fun.
Mindil Beach Casino Resort manager Brad Morgan said he was looking forward to a big night.
“It is going to be a big night...a very busy one for our staff,” Mr Morgan said.
“On the night we will have somewhere in the vicinity of 150 staff plus our expert chefs preparing and plating meals.
“Outside on the lawns the evening goes until midnight and then patrons can continue on inside after.”
