A new Northern Territory fundraising record has been set at this year’s Great Humpty Ball.
The event was held at Mindil Beach Casino on Saturday night and was the seventh fundraiser held by the charity aiming to bring lifesaving children’s medical equipment to hospitals.
In total the NT has raised $9m for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and donated 868 pieces of equipment for 70 hospitals and health services across the Territory.
Foundation founder and chairman Paul Francis said this year’s result was fantastic and would have tanglible outcomes for the health of children in the NT.
“Last night we took one more step closer to giving Northern Territory children and their families the health services that are available in all other states in Australia,” he said.
“People inside and outside the Mindil Ballroom all came together – we were even blessed to have local Northern Territory doctors and nurses who each volunteered their time to help us raise money for medical equipment to help Territory children.
“Northern Territory doctors and nurses deserve to have the medical equipment that is available in all other states as they strive for the best possible health outcomes for our children — Our medical teams make so many sacrifices for us, last night was for them.”
