Experienced hospitality, gaming and venue executive Brad Morgan is set to return to his old stamping ground at Mindil Beach Casino Resort.

The appointment is subject to regulatory approval, but if green-lit, he will begin work on March 3.

Formerly manager of the old Sky City Casino between 2010 and 2014, he replaces Sean Knights, who wrapped up his 12-month tenure last month to move to the Philippines.

Mr Morgan has had 25 years experience in the hospitality, gaming and casino industries across the NT and Queensland.

He has managed three casinos, including Sky City and Lasseters in the NT and The Ville in Townsville, was chief executive of Darwin Turf Club from 2020 to 2022 and most recently managed Dixon Hospitality Group’s operations in Darwin and Adelaide.

Delaware North managing director Gary Brown said Mr Morgan had a “proven track record of generating strong commercial returns”, while sharing a focus on compliance and community.

“Brad’s deep knowledge of the local market, combined with a proven track record of

generating strong commercial returns while maintaining a focus on compliance and

community engagement, makes him an outstanding addition to our team,” Mr Brown said.

“As one of the world’s leading tourism and hospitality companies with operations

across the globe, Delaware North is strongly committed to being an integral part of

local communities where our businesses are located, including Mindil Beach Casino

Resort,” he said.

Mr Morgan said he was looking forward to returning to the casino under the management of Delaware North, which took over operations in 2019.

“I am looking forward to playing a leading role in supporting Delaware North’s aim of injecting further investment into Mindil Beach Casino Resort and creating more local jobs, to maintain the status of the business as one of the largest private-sector employers in Darwin,” Mr Morgan said.

“Since I last worked at the property, I have always kept a close eye on Mindil Beach Casino Resort because of my previous connection. I am excited to once again lead what is an iconic Northern Territory business.”

Mindil Beach Casino Resort employs more than 500 staff.
