BERRY Springs opened over the weekend to hordes of locals looking to take a dip in the aqua waters.
The pools were opened on Saturday after rangers completed croc checks and water quality analysis.
Darwin and Urban Parks chief district ranger Louise Kean said visitors largely behaved themselves during the opening weekend with Sunday proving to be extremely busy.

“Visitor numbers were high for the opening weekend of Berry Springs with the majority of visitors behaving well,” she said.
“There is always a lot of excitement around the opening of Berry Springs, and we’d just like to remind everyone to respect other park users and to follow the glass and smoke-free areas to keep the experience pleasant for all.
“It’s really not hard to not have glass near the swimming areas or to walk 50m to smoke on the lawn.
“Overall, rangers were impressed with how everyone behaved and look forward to high visitor numbers throughout the dry season.”
