COUNCIL has given the all-clear for Tuff Bullbars to set up a new factory in the former Campbells Wholesalers warehouse in Torrington.

The 5200sq m Carrington Rd warehouse will allow the Toowoomba bullbar and four-wheel-drive accessory business to centre its operations on the single site.

Currently, the company is spread between a fitting bay and small showroom on Tews Ct and two small factories on Holt Dr - one for bullbars, the other for powder-coating.

The second stage of the project includes a double-storey extension at the front of the building "designed to enhance the visual appearance of the development within the existing streetscape".

The company's growth has been attributed to demand from the mining industry, extending from its traditional agricultural, fleet and commercial interests.

Campbells Wholesale shut its doors in July, leaving 30 staff without a job.
