One of Australia’s largest fast food chains is going on a recruitment spree, announcing it will hire 11,000 people before the end of this year.
With a workforce of more than 100,000 people already, McDonald’s said it will be offering thousands of full-time, part-time and casual roles to fill its 1010 restaurants across the country.
McDonald’s chief people officer Emma Napoli-Hala said the company was proud to “play an important role” during these difficult times.
“McDonald’s is looking to employ people of all ages and experience levels, offering a supportive working environment, outstanding training and development opportunities and the flexibility to suit all circumstances.
“We are proud to provide essential job opportunities for more than 11,000 Australians right now, as part of this year’s recruitment drive.”
McDonald’s has more than 4000 jobs up for grabs in NSW, 2500 jobs in Victoria, 2000 jobs in Queensland, 1000 jobs in South Australia, 250 jobs in the Northern Territory, 200 jobs in Tasmania, 50 jobs in the ACT and 750 jobs in Western Australia.
Ms Napoli-Hala added that Macca’s was focused on providing employees with “professional development” in the form of training and on-the-job experience to attain the skills they need to develop their career and future success.
“So many of our people have started their careers with McDonald’s on the restaurant floor and gone on to become restaurant managers, franchisees and senior leaders at our head offices across the country,” Ms Napoli-Hala said.
“By supporting the professional development of our people, we know we can help make a genuine positive contribution to the local areas we operate in and provide workplace skills applicable to any career.
“Whether you are looking for your first job, interested in a career in management, want to sharpen your barista skills, or simply pick up some casual work, we would love to hear from you.”
The fast food chain invests more than $40 million dollars into training at its McDonald’s training centres across the country.
McDonald’s also has a Sydney Hamburger University, one of seven in the world, that provides crew with virtual and in person training. Once staff graduate, they receive a degree in Hamburgerology.
