FATHERS new and old will celebrate their special day today in many different ways but one Territory dad will go full troppo.
Croc Wrangler Matt Wright’s weekend, as per usual, will be a little different.
It won’t be a fun run or a fry-up for breakfast – instead Wright’s second Father’s Day will be like many other exciting adventures in his and his son Banjo’s already-adventurous life.
“We’ve got a fantastic weekend over there at Tiwi Islands – we’re going to take Banjo out in the boat, do a bit of fishing, jump in the chopper, probably just poke up the waterhole,” he said.
“It’s my second one, Banjo’s just turned one but he’s getting around, he’s up and running about.

“It’s really exciting, spending time together is what Father’s Day’s about, celebrating all the great fathers around the country.”
While he’s just over a year old, young Banjo already has a couple of friends to play with at home who Matt will also play father to this year.
“We’ve got a little calf called Ribeye, he loves Ribeye, he gets out there and feeds him every afternoon and gets in and amongst it, we’ve just got to make sure Ribeye doesn’t step on Banjo’s tootsies,” Wright said.
“Between Ribeye and the little crocodile down the back yard at home it’s a bit of fun at home for him.”
