A GOLD Coast road has reopened after a terrifying car and bicycle incident this morning.
Emergency services were called around 9.40am after reports a car and bicycle collided on Mallawa Drive in Palm Beach.
An elderly man sustained serious head, shoulder, pelvic and abdominal injuries.
Paramedics, including critical care paramedics, transported the man to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Queensland Police conducted traffic control and Mallawa Drive was closed for a number of hours.
