Elanora: Man hospitalised after generator explosion

A man has been hospitalised after a generator caught alight and exploded on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

A MAN has been hospitalised after a generator caught alight and exploded on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to Wirildar Drive in Elanora shortly before 3pm.

When crews arrived a 6m by 4m trailer with a generator was on fire.

It took firefighters five minutes to get the blaze under control.

The man was left with burns on his arm and leg due to the explosion.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
