A trio of friends are adding some spice to the night cuisine in Broadbeach.

Friends Krystal Kewalee, Tony Krittaphas and Nan Chuminunt drew from their experience of living in Thailand to open Spice Kitchen and Bar at The Oasis, Broadbeach in May.

Both chefs, Mr Krittaphas and Mr Chuminunt said they wanted to pay homage to their cultural background by sharing their interest and passion in their cultural cuisine.

“The response since we opened has been better than we expected,” Mr Krittaphas said. “We have already gained a strong local following who love our Thai cuisine.”

Ms Kewalee said the trio chose Broadbeach as it saw the market for night cuisine on the rise at Oasis.

“It was a convenient, relaxing, yet hustle and bustle location, as well as the vibe it provides, which is suitable to our restaurant theme,” she said.

“We decorated the restaurant with a mix of greenery and real plants that purify the air to indicate the freshness and nature vibes and we also love the proximity to the beach.”

Spice Kitchen and Bar includes a range of baos, including a Lanna pork charcoal bao, sriracha and honey chicken charcoal bao and a vegetable bao.

“The weekends and evenings are especially busy, and our $14.90 and $15.90 lunch specials have also been well received by people working at The Oasis and in Broadbeach,” Ms Kewalee said.
