MANAGING six businesses and 12 children between them, Kerri Brennan, Emma Cannon and Wendy Chettle have literally got their hands full as they organise Toowoomba's only Baby and Toddler Expo.

Convener and mastermind behind the expo Ms Brennan, said the idea for the event came after hearing her customers tell stories of trips to Brisbane for baby products.

"I couldn't believe the number of people who did not know about the businesses and services that exist right here in Toowoomba that cater to this market” she said.

"Small business is tough and a big part of the struggle is getting your name and product out into the market place. Unfortunately, small businesses just don't have the budget to advertise and often they go unnoticed.”

Ms Chettle recently moved to Toowoomba with husband David to open up specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology Practice, Evolve Women's Health, of which she is practice manager.

"I think as women we have to cut ourselves some slack and not try to be superwoman all the time. Some things just have to wait, and sometimes we need to take that mental health day, stop, rest and try again tomorrow,” Ms Chettle said.

"When we're not working on the expo, we're talking about our kids, husbands and the general chaos of life.

"It's empowering to know that if you have a bad morning, there's a cup of coffee and a sympathetic ear available.”

The expo is on July 20 at the Toowoomba Showgrounds. Click here to buy tickets.
