St Augustine’s College will take on arguably the best sporting school in Queensland on Friday for a shot at the AFLQ State senior boys grand final.
The prestigious Cairns school will take on last years premiers, Palm Beach Currumbin at Neil Upton Oval at Maroochydore from 6,30pm (AEST), with a spot in Sunday’s decider against either St Laurence’s College or Padua College up for grabs.

Saints captain Mitch Hurst said it will be a pretty tough challenge.
“They are a great school and have always been competitive,” Hurst said.
“We know if we stick to our game and stop them from playing their game, we are a massive chance of getting through.
“I know that sounds cliche, but it is the honest truth how it is done.
“We just need to back ourselves in, we know our style of footy has got us here, so if we stick to it then I am pretty confident we will be alright.”
Palm Beach Currumbin are coming off a convincing 28 point win over Cleveland District State High School on September 3.
For some of the Saints players, it is their last chance at premiership glory for the school.
“It would mean a lot to me and plenty of our players,” Hurst said.
“Especially the ones who won’t be here to have another crack next year.
“We back ourselves in, have something to play for and stick to our style as I said, we will go pretty well.”
