A young woman was arrested by police after she was kicked out of her staff Christmas Party at the Toowoomba City Bowls Club.

Toowoomba Magistrates Court was told police received multiple reports about a disturbance at the club on December 16, which were being caused by a drunk Lili Ann Johnston.

Police prosecutor Cameron Francis said the 22-year-old had been kicked out about 5pm and when police located her, she was hostile and uncooperative.

Mr Francis said Johnston seemed very drunk and had been yelling profanities in the vicinity of young families.

The officers moved the apprentice painter away from members of the community and waited with her until her Uber driver arrived.

However, Mr Francis said Johnston was quickly arrested after she screamed out of the Uber window, threatening an officer.

“Tell that copper c--- that karma is a b-tch. I’m going to find out where he lives,” she yelled.

Solicitor Claire Graham, of Skuse Graham Lawyers, said her client’s anger originated from an incident inside the club and wasn’t intentionally directed at officers.

Ms Graham said a man known to Johnston had approached her, despite her repeatedly telling him to leave her alone.

The court was told Johnston was recently sentenced to a probation order for bottling a man at a shopping centre, and that her criminal history included six other public nuisance charges.

On Tuesday, January 24, Johnston pleaded guilty to causing a public nuisance and being drunk in a public place.

Magistrate Kay Philipson told Johnston she clearly had an issue with alcohol and fined her $500.
