A 21-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to two separate assaults on men has been placed on probation so she can get help with anger management.

Lili Ann Johnston had become involved in an argument with an Uber driver who had picked her up and an older woman from a Drayton residence about 3.20pm, June 15, last year.

The Uber driver had agreed to drive them to the South Toowoomba McDonalds and back but when they arrived at the restaurant’s drive through an argument broke out initially with McDonald’s staff and then the Uber driver.

After the Uber driver asked the two women to get out of the car, Johnston had struck him to the neck and side of the head, Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard.

She had then kicked the driver’s side door panel as she exited the car, causing a slight dent, police prosecutor Anita Page told the court.

On November 14, a man had been shopping with his two young daughters at Woolworths in Toowoomba when he encountered Johnston who started yelling at him.

She had then struck him to the side of the face with a bottle of drink, Ms Page said.

Johnston had also caused a disturbance at the Southern Hotel on July 23 when she verbally abused staff and swore loudly, she said.

Her solicitor Phil Stainton conceded “My client has real issues with anger management”, but she had since sought help.

Magistrate Howard Osborne placed Johnston on 18 months probation.
