James Packer has been pictured dining alongside Donald Trump and Elon Musk, becoming the latest Australian billionaire to share a meal with the soon-to-be US President.

Footage shared to Instagram by the 57-year-old’s girlfriend, model and philanthropist Renee Elizabeth Blythewood, showed Mr Packer seated at a round table next to the President-elect.

Mr Musk, the world’s richest man and a top adviser to Mr Trump, was across the table beside Mr Packer’s business partner and best friend, Brett Ratner.

The dinner is believed to have taken place in the US overnight, The Daily Telegraph reported, just days before Mr Trump’s January 20 inauguration.

Mr Packer and Ms Blythewood have reportedly been together since the end of 2023.

“Donald Trump is exactly the kind of dedicated, strong, decisive, brave and unapologetic leader America desperately needs,” she said, adding that “his impact will be felt around the world”.

The executive chairman of Hancock Prospecting previously took out a full-page ad in The New York Times following Mr Trump’s election victory, saluting the businessman-cum-politician for “standing up, no matter what is thrown at you”.

It’s not known if Mr Morrison will be there on Tuesday.

Foreign Minister Penny Wong confirmed she and Australia’s Ambassador to the US, Kevin Rudd, will be at the ceremony and meet with members of the Trump administration.

“I am honoured to be invited to attend President Donald Trump’s inauguration,” she said.

“It is a demonstration of the steadfast alliance between Australia and the United States.”
