Melania Trump has let slip a sensational detail about the Obamas when they left the White House in 2017,

The incoming First Lady suggested that the Obamas withheld information about the transition process making the move “challenging” for the Trumps.

Speaking to Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt, Melania said she expected the move to go a lot more smoothly on Monday when her husband is sworn into office because they already know a lot about their new home.

“The first time was challenging; we didn’t have much information,” she said.

“The information was upheld [sic] from us by the previous administration. But this time I have everything... it’s a very different transition this time, second time around.”

Michelle Obama will skip Mr Trump’s inauguration on Monday in a break with tradition.

It comes after she failed to attend Jimmy Carter’s funeral earlier this month.

Her husband Barack Obama was filmed speaking cordially with Mr Trump, with the pair even appearing friendly.

Ms Obama was in Hawaii at the time.

Mr Obama will join fellow former presidents Bill Clinton and George W Bush at Mr Trump’s inauguration on January 20.

Sources have revealed that Ms Obama has opted to skip Trump’s inauguration because she refuses to “be fake” about her loyalties.

“She’s never been fake and she’s never been phony. She’s always been very deliberate about where and how she shows up,” the source said.

“She showed up reluctantly for the election. They were united, but she doesn’t have to unify around [Trump]. She doesn’t have to say anything.

“Her absence speaks volumes.”

Melania also confirmed in her interview with Fox that she and her son, Barron Trump, will be living part-time at the White House during her husband’s second presidency, ending months of speculation.

She said that she and Barron, a New York University student, plan to divide their time between Washington, DC, New York City and the family’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida.

“I will be in the White House, and when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. “When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach,” she said.

“But my first priority is, you know, to be a mum, to be a first lady, to be a wife, and once we are in on Jan 20, you serve the country.”

Nicknamed the “Winter White House,” Mar-a-Lago has been Donald’s primary residence since 2019 after raising Barron at his Trump Tower triplex penthouse in Midtown Manhattan.

Melania noted that Barron, who is enrolled at NYU’s prestigious Stern School of Business, will “come visit” the White House as often as he wants.

The proud mum said the teen can stay over and bring friends whenever he sees fit.

“I feel that children, we have them ’til they are like 18, 19 years old. We teach them, we guide them. and then we give them the wings to fly,” she said.

“And I always respect Barron’s yes and no and what he likes to do, where he would like to be.”

Back in November, a source close to the Trumps told People that Melania was “not likely” to make the White House her main residence.

“If Melania becomes first lady again, of course people expect her to move into the White House and perform appropriate duties,” the source said.

“She will have her private living apartment there, and she has her home in New York, and her home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach.

“She will spend time in all of these places.”

According to Newsweek, Donald Trump met with President Joe Biden after the election to begin the transition process.

However, Melania did not meet with first lady Jill Biden, sparking speculation about her intentions to return to the White House.
