’Interesting’ weather predictions ahead for Toowoomba and surrounds

After some cold and frosty mornings, here’s when Toowoomba can expect to see temperatures rise and showers hit the region.

Toowoomba and the Darling Downs have some interesting weather predictions for the week ahead.

A Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) spokeswoman said while the region has had its fair share of early morning frost and fog in the recent days, the outlook shows temperatures will soon start to rise.

“The area has had a few cool mornings the last couple of days with minimum temperatures in the low single digits right across the southeast and inner-west parts of the state,” the spokeswoman said.

“But starting from Monday and over the next couple of days, the forecast shows an increase in those minimum temperatures as those winds along the east coast start to head onshore.

“This should bring some more moisture back into the air and keep those temperatures slightly warmer right throughout the coming week.”

The spokeswoman said the maximum temps were expected to remain stable and in the high teens for Toowoomba for the rest of the week.

She said the region could also expect a slight chance of showers to occur.

“We have a chance of a couple of showers returning to the eastern parts of the Darling Downs on Monday – it will not be significant rainfall but light falls,” the spokeswoman said.

“Chances of rain will decrease midweek, but there’s early indications we’ll have a couple of showers at the end of the working week across the broader district.”
